 Sending a Text Message/Searching
The quickest and most efficient way to get to the article or advertisement you are interested in will be to use the standard non-case sensitive format known as the DWG code. The format of the DWG code is:
"[dwg] [magazine] [space] [issue and year] [space] [page]"
Example: dwg mon jan2007 6
- [dwg] is an identifier we need for demo purposes. Once we go live and into public beta scenario, this code will not longer be necessary.
- [magazine] is the name of the magazine.
- If the magazine name is a single word (i.e. Money) the first three letters (i.e. mon) will represent that magazine.
- [issue and year] will be represented by three characters representing the month of the issue (i.e. jan) and four digit year (i.e. 2007).
- For issues that are monthly, (jan-feb-mar-...) will be applicable (i.e. jan2007)
- For those issues that are quarterly (win-spr-sum-fal) will be applicable (i.e. spr2007)
- [page] will be represented by the digit representing which the page number of the article or advertisement in your magazine you are reading. (i.e. 6 – is page six of the magazine).
- If it is a multi page article or advertisement you are interested in, we only need the first page of that article.
- If for some reason, there are misspellings or characters that may have been sent by mistake, we will do our best to match the article or advertisement based on what you have sent in your text message. Nevertheless, once you log into your DawgEarIt account, you will have an opportunity to review the messages that you have sent.
In addition to the DWG code, you can also send "keyword" text messages, that will also be available to you using the "search ribbon" on the website. You will be able to search by:
- By whole magazine name like "business week".
- By category/tag like "fashion".
- By manufacturer name like "nike".
- By author like "john doe"
- By title like "who understands the paradigm shift?"
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
